My name's John and I'm a laziness addict. I hate the all the hassle of formatting links when I want to include an affiliate link in my blog posts. You have to highlight the word, or phrase, you want to make a live clickable link, you have to click that little chain icon to open that weird pop-up; and then you have to paste your affiliate link into the box, select "target_blank" to get it to open in a new window and then click select. All that for just one link. When you need to include three of four links in a blog post it can take longer than writing the post itself!

Well, I got sick and tired of all that hassle, I have much better things to do with my time. So, I contacted my long time friend and ace programmer Joel Holtzman. We had a chat on Skype, I explained the problem, we brainstormed a few ideas and Joel went back into his cobweb ridden basement and fired up his super duper programming tardis thing. (Trust me - I have no idea what he does or how he does it. I just see Joel as a mad programming scientist)

Anyway back to the story..

A couple of days later Joel sent me the first version of the Easy WP Affiliate plugin ready to install and test. I'm sure that you know how easy it is to install a Wordpress plugin.. it took me three minutes to open SmartFTP, upload the folder to the plugin directory, log into my blog's admin panel and activate the plugin.

Then all I had to do was click the Easy WP Affiliate tab, select "Add" and enter three things..

1. My keyword phrase
2. My affiliate link
3. The maximum number of links I wanted in each post

That was it! Now every post that contained that keyword phrase now included up to three live affiliate links. Even the articles I posted years ago when I first started my blog.

And now, after I've written a new blog post, all I have to do is to choose a suitable keyword or phrase to make a link, copy and paste it into the "Add Link" section, enter my affiliate link and select the maximum number of links. That's why I wanted to call it Easy WP Affiliate.
